Hey all,

Just after some ideas and thoughts. I’m looking for a supercar which I can use as a semi-daily. I have a 360 and LP700, but I find both of these seem quite fragile and just not that usable everyday for pottering around town. I also have a M5 and S63 so don’t really want another saloon. 2 seat or 2+2 is what I’m after. I’m torn between:

- Porsche Turbo /S (991) - probably closest thing as a ‘daily supercar’

- Porsche GT3 (991) - how are these for a daily?

- Porsche 993 Turbo - can these be used as a daily?

- Ferrari California - is this more of a daily than other Ferrari’s? I like the 2+2 for the kids at the back and the hardtop convertible

- Ferrari 599/F12 - how do these compare to the Aventador as a ‘daily driver’?

- Mercedes AMG GT

Not driven any of the above and will take some for a test drive once I’ve narrowed it down somewhat.

Thanks!

Thanks guys for the tips. When I said ‘supercar’, I meant something which is a bit special and visceral compared to ‘normal sports cars’ - I didn’t want recommendations of a mx5! The distinction between the upper echelons of a sports car and supercar is so subjective and probably not really worth arguing about. Each to their own.

I’ve been reading a bit about the McLaren’s (720s) which seem like a good shout. I’ll add that to the list too. Didn’t think about the Audi R8 and would probably have that over the Porsche Turbo despite losing the 2 rear seats.

I find the 360 quite difficult to drive as a daily. Very loud (Tubi exhaust), doors open too wide so parking is a nightmare, handbrake doesn’t hold even on slight inclines, visibility very poor when it rains due to condensation, no parking sensors etc…. Just send hits fragile. The Aventador Roadster is a better daily with the front lift, reverse camera etc… but again seems a bit fragile with not the best turning circle.

Hey guys,

OP here. I’ll probably go for a test drive in a F12 and see how easy it feels to be a daily driver vs my Aventador. I’ll then probably sell the 360 as I don’t think I’ll drive it all that much with a F12/Aventador around.

If the F12 isn’t really that much easier as a daily vs the Aventador, then I’ll probably get a McLaren 750s.

Will probably steer clear of the Porsches for now, not least because of the massive waiting lists on new ones and the premium on the used ones just now.

Cheers!
