its a sor car and the ferrari tech is saying no one drills or cuts into the loom before the car is paid for? so I've reached stalemate there's a good chance after all the work thsts been put in it could now stall. Yes I agree the fitters of trackers might be OK but I can see the sellers point too,no one works on the car until its paid for

Hi let me explain. JBR insist on fitting a tracker before they will release the money. The dealer is saying no one touches the car until its paid for? Me personally I don't care if it has tracker or not but the finance are insisting before they release funds. The dealer is saying get stuffed until its paid for

Hi I agree I'm more with the dealer. But finance are not moving on it I've had brokers trying everything!! If it's not part of their system they won't budge and I assume that would include any third party legal input etc. Its the most ridiculous situation I've faced. They just say they do 100s a month and it's never been a problem !!!

Non refundable deposit of 20% has anyone since time begun ever really done that? As for taking a hit yes I suspect it will but can anyone name a much safer place to sink your money into than a well sorted manual 360? The selling agent will not be open for discussion on thus so the best I can do is ask that he asks the owner if they will consider it,but its a weak chance

To be honest I've already bent over to buy this car offered full asking it has to be re registered from isle of man in my time so I need vin insurance on collection so the tracker issue could be the final straw for me. I want the car but not enough to have to beg when I'm paying top dollar

Hi no not having second thoughts I will buy this car but I'm a believer in things stacking up against something. I will buy the car this week if at all possible. The tracker is fitted by JBR nit by myself and is for their use only. I have discussed all scenarios with the broker and JBR will not negotiate. Yes the deposit is near 30% . I would wait for another car but its taken way over 5 years to locate this one in spec and colour I want. The car has a little infamy in that it was owned by a billionaire from new who is now on trial for murder!!!

Sadly thst was 4 owners ago!! I don't have any bargaining power here, I leave it and miss out on a lengthy search or I buy it at full asking no questions asked. There are 4 rhd manuals in UK in this colour so they don't come up often

I'd normally agree but I've had 2 yellow 911s one had 300 plus calls and the other sold first day. So for me yellow has always been lucky for resale. I fully expect dealers to say that, until they have on to shift. The recent one at Bells sport flew away at 80k. But yes I agree they all told me the same, especially the previous porsche dealers.

I agree its less than that figure but the yellow f1 was around 56k at the dealers so I think you are right. I've not seen many manual spiders with impeccable history and provenance for much under 65, but I could be wrong. I've done all the homework I can before purchase and think the dealer has just plonked 5k on for his trouble selling it

I've bought many cars today I've virtually been insulted by the seller who says why do I need finance on such a cheap car!!!

I am a dealer. I don't really bother with the whole SOR stuff and prefer to buy my own stock. Either way, JBR have done everything bar fit the tracker. Once tracker fitted they will pay out. The dealer should just say yes, its a non issue. The SOR client gets paid, they cream their profit off the top and the OP gets his car.

Don't see any reason any professional outfit should make the purchase of dream car so difficult.

I finally got it resolved but what a fight its been. I think both parties now agreed seller and buyer, but to be honest I had to put serious effort and time in to make it happen. So barring any other issues its on as they have agreed to fit tracker after payment made

yes its been a long haul to get it sorted but its substantially sorted and I can't wait to get to the seller as he has promised me a good look at some of the cars including F40s not sure it gets much better

Two threads and plenty of grief by the sounds of it. Fingers crossed you will be happy with your choice and rack up the miles smile

I'm covering all bases. The finance people now say as its a sor car the seller must buy it and own it before sale..To be honest I've never heard such crap and I can see them blowing it

problem is he's not a dealer. His business is ferrari repairs and servicing etc he has just agreed to sell on a trusted clients car. His understanding of finance is zero which he admits. His knowledge on the cars seems superb. The car has no warranty also,in his words, not worth the paper its written on. Tomorrow's attempt from the broker is the last chance, as they want him to own the car first,I'm sure it ends tomorrow, sadly when he tells them to do one.

They are not hung up on the warranty just the legal right to sell the vehicle. its frustrating as we are not talking huge sums here either. What I've found out through this is anything other than dealer finance on a 20 year old car is a nightmare unless you're paying full funds from your own account
