3200 - missing code keys

I went to look at a 3200 last week at an independent dealer (didn't buy it).

They had the red key but not the 3 card keys that would be at the front of the service manual. The service manual had three slots at the front for these "code keys" and it looked like they would be credit card shape and size. The manual said "don't leave these keys in the car".

Is it important to have these, what do they do, if I need them can I assume I can get them as long as I have the red key?
