I've had a serious amount of work done on my GT4 over the last 3 months. It's had a fairly major engine overhaul - namely various bearings, belts, oil seals+pipes etc, also a new clutch and a gearbox rebuild. It has cost me all my savings and put me into debt to get this work done.
To top it all, on the way home from the garage it overheated terminally and I spent 2 1/2 hours sitting on the side of the M25 waiting for the AA to trailer me home

Should I get rid of it as soon a I can get it in a saleable condition? Or am I over the worst of the repair bills? It was pretty reliable for the 9 months before it went in for the work. I can do quite a lot myself, but let's face it...the parts aren't cheap!

I must admit, at the moment all I want to do it douse it in petrol and put a match to it

Well after a weekend away from it all (sailing) I opened the garage and there she was...
Added to that, I've just found out I'n NOT going to be made redundant...so I think I am going to keep it.

I reckon I can fix the overheating myself. At the worst it's a head gasket. But because the steam is coming from the front, I suspect it's a radiator/pipework problem.

I had a 928S2 that I spent a fortune fixing, then sold it. The bloke who had it after me only had 1 thing go wrong with it in the next 3 years! Am hoping this will prove to be the case with the GT4.

Cheers Kev.

Managed to find the overheating problem, a split/perished radiator hose. Have got a replacement bit for £5.72 so hope to fit it tonight.

Will be able to start attending events again and make good on offers of rides!
