After Tiff Needells words last night ( and whatever we think of him he can drive..)
and similar sentiment from this months magazines, is the Gallardo a bit too much of , well, an Audi?

Some of the comments about driving "feel" and sensitivity sound like a cut and paste from a Audi TT road test.

Should I think twice about aspiring to one of these, or is there a defender out there who has driven one?

You guys might haved hit on something.

Perhaps we are wrong to think of the Gallardo as a 360 rari competitor and more as an use-it-every-day 996TT rival?

After all, it is essentially a german car innit?

in metal the car is little, compact, pure, i like it a lot.
the inside is quite ordinary, all middle grey and audi smell, than when you turn it on the sound...

well, with low rev is a full and beatifu sound, getting nearer the red zone it becomes so ordinary and never grows like a v8 Ferrari, for example...

a friend drove a manual, the friction pedal is long and usensitive and the steering is very audi, with no feedback especially in case of a little spin (we wre on track, but cars were lamborghini's)

is also wasn't so firm in 170 180kmh curves, but 3 turns is a little time to judge a supercar...

anyway a very disappointing experience, inside was like a tuned tt, not a little murcielago, that's a real blast...

so, if a could afford one i would't havo bought it...

presence and look aren't enough for a supecar...

sorry for my enlish guys!

A good review, speaking honestly.
Its a shame that the Lambo is becoming too much of an Audi. Why do Audi engineers always have to remove the "feeling" from cars?

The engine guys are great ( witness the RS6 !) but they should fire the steering and suspension boffins I think !
