kevin,

thanks for the reassurance. Mine is a 96 with 14k on the clock. No real probs so far and loving every minute.

Only shock was seeing the prep bill that was prepared within the dealer, lets see £1640+VAT stone chip repairs, £1700+VAT parts, £1700+VAT warranty, £2040+VAT labour...gulp a total of £8400

I have been reassured that all it will need next time round is a very basic sub £800 service!

Could you advise on the exhaust, where did you get yours from, how loud, any good etc??

you can add £10,000 to the price of that bonnet, i think the figure they got was not quite right.

i am told a new engine would be £60k

is the evo mag out yet, i was advised the 456 article was in it as the dealer mine came from helped with the article. Its not a dk blue with black lthr 456 in the pics by chance is it ???

Just seen Evo it is my dk blue 456 in this months mag, shows it in the interior shot and several other pictures with a 'Ferrari approved' type number plate! I should ask for a free subscription, even credits the dealer for their help!

When is chatsworth? If free then will try to come along.

Came back from garage today, went there to get a few odds and sods sorted, came back on a gleaming red lorry with a Ferrari badge on the side...about 20 kids all came for a look, as the whole of the back of the lorry smoothly slid off and parked itself on the ground.

Even came back fully valeted, must think of another excuse to book it in. MHT are the tops.

mine was the one used for the evo photo's!

so far its proving great fun, loads of grunt, real feeling of occassion, very controllable and always gets a thumbs up from other road users.

just got a tubi exhaust fitted (sorry manu could not wait until July, what with Le Mans coming up) and now it sounds incredible.

As the article said at 50k they are going to hold their value from here on in. For the same money I was looking (assuming RHD) at a 348, minth 328GTS or Testarossa...its not much of a decision really.

no, driving it fairly sedately in reality. Unlike my 996 you just dont need to rev it to get performance, such is the low down torque of almost 2 3L 911 engines under a single bonnet!

Tail did step out in the wet last weekend, but that was down to me.

Yep fingers crossed for sensible running costs, for sure it is going to cost me more than the Porsche. I would like to think it is going to be no worse than a 50k Tuscan S or Cerbera 4.5 however, as what i should save in depreciation say £15k will hopefully be enough to run it for 3 years.
