Probably a daft question, and I may well have missed it somewhere very obvious... but is there a general game plan or timings anywhere... or directions?

Either way, the nicest route is probably to head North from York through Sutton & Huby, so anyone coming from south or West of York should be able to meet up somewhere around the A1/A64 junction.
