Alright, where the fk was that? I missed that one.
Next to the Mclaren formula 1 car in the covered/drivers vip area

That would explain it. I should get a better job / work harder at school / become a director of more companies etc etc.

Great day out though!
Here are some more of it, seeing as you missed it smile Some are mine, others are a friends

Nice to see the GTR rebuilt, last pics I saw of it was a burnt out back end frown
Possibly the best longtail F1 GTR out there [that's finished] IMO; the detailing is fantastic; very well 'resuscitated' after its long time in the wilderness

This particular GTR actually wasn't too badly damaged in the fire at Le Mans - not nearly as bad as #25R was anyway. This GTR was rebuilt and resumed racing at several events in 1997, and then reappeared in the all black LOCTITE livery for Le Mans 1998 - nice page of period images here:

http://www.renaissance-models.com/Galerie/mclaren_...

The Gulf livery was added back to the car in 2010 during a complete restoration of the car after joining the ROFGO Collection.

Um that particular GTR caught fire 4 or 5 months ago.
Really? news to me, and a couple of weeks ago I was with the guy who had it changed to its current livery in 2010 and he mentioned nothing.....

Was it a bad fire or a minor electrical issue?

You must be talking about the Nissan then?

The McLaren caught fire once too - in rather spectacular fashion during qualifying at Le Mans in 1997.

Im sure it was, my mate had a picture of the back end. Ill will double check and get to you. Anyway still a bloody nice beastie. I have pics of the interior from January when I was looking at it.
Was it the Mclaren GTR [that I was thinking you were talking about] or Nissan GTR [that you may be referring to?]......

Deffo the Mclaren
Perhaps he showed you pictures of a recent eBay listing that had the rear part of the singed GTR for sale?

I'm pretty certain the GTR hasn't had any damage since the picture Erik posted
