PistonHeads Sunday Service: 28/10/12
Join us at Mercedes-Benz World as the Sunday Service roadshow creaks into action once more
Sunday October 28 sees a return to Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands where 600 PH cars will line up on our usual position on the ‘Dynamic Straight’.
The usual Sunday Service mix of hot breakfasts, PHers' cars and lots of things to see from the host manufacturer will be on offer with the added benefit of AMG passenger rides for Sunday Service folk at just £10, These will be bookable on the day on a first come, first served basis.
Never been to a Sunday Service before? It’s an easy-going format of arrive, park (no heroics please) and admire other PHers' cars. When you’re ready, breakfast will be available inside the Mercedes-Benz World building. Gates open at 09.00 and we’ll close the Sunday Service element at 13.00, but as the centre is open all day you can stay for as long as you like.
As usual you will need to ensure you add your name to the calendar to ensure entry on the day.
Those with a number between 1-600 next to their name will be on our list and will be waved through to park. If you are outside ‘the 600’ you will be added to the reserve list, but as people drop out your name will automatically move up the list.
Sunday Service lists change dramatically as the event draws closer so please keep checking right up to the eve of the event as you may find you have gained a space. If you sign up and later find you can no longer attend, please do the decent thing and remove yourself from the list enabling another PHer to take your place on the day.
Thanks to Mercedes-Benz for allowing us to return once again.

What if people don't turn up who are on the list? We make abusive calls to them for 1 month
Many more to come I'm sure, ranging from 'what price for a coffee?' to 'why can't they take 700 cars?'
Possibly a silly question and I haven't read or understood something that I should have.
I turn up.
Man on gate says "Who are you"
I tell him my name and number on list.
He checks list and says "Your names down, you can come in."
Job jobbed?
If you are within the 600 we'll have a note of your username on the gate, we'll ask for this when you arrive and after a quick check you'll be in.
Many more to come I'm sure, ranging from 'what price for a coffee?' to 'why can't they take 700 cars?'
I break down on the way to MBW, being a nice chap, I use my smartphone to take myself off of the list. However, I manage to fix the car by the side of the road and then set off for the SS, having reinstated myself.
In the meantime, the guy who has been bumped up from the reserve list and lives just around the corner from the meet, sees that he is in fact on the list now and gets past the
Then, I turn up in my fixed car. However, the place is full and my can't fit in anywhere. I consult the list on my phone, see the problem and identify the bloke who took my place.
Can I be the one who gets to tell him to sling his hook and escorts him to the exit, so freeing my space?
You get an extra hour in bed.
Good job Blib is honest & didn't say forward
See you there at 10.00.
I click on "Add/remove from list" and get "Oops there seems to be a problem"
"The technical team have been notified"
I might have to turn up after all and be miserable
I might also bring Jaffa cakes again [as per Aston Martin]
