Silverstone Sunday Service 05/03

We're back at Silverstone for another Sunday Service and plenty of track action!

Silverstone has established itself as the biggest Sunday Service on the PH calendar, so much so that we have started going there twice a year, and 2017 is going to maintain that tradition. On Sunday March 5 we'll be returning for a giant Sunday Service and a packed out morning with track sessions on the National circuit available exclusively for PistonHeads members.

If you've been to one of our previous Silverstone Sunday Services much of this will seem familiar; if it ain't broke and so on. Over the course of the morning, there will be six 30-minute track sessions priced at just £40 a time. These sessions are divided into two categories - novice and intermediate - based on your driving experience.

All of our track sessions will have a maximum number of 35 cars on track so there will be plenty of space, and we'll also be taking some of the PH Fleet cars on track for passenger rides if you'd rather just ride shotgun.

Bookings for the track sessions can be done online here or over the telephone (0844 3728 235) directly through Silverstone, and lines are open now. However, please make sure you remember to add yourself to the calendar if you're going out on track, as all attendees need to be registered.

For those of you who do not want to venture out on track, simply sign up on the regular calendar. The gates will be open from 0830h and the Sunday Service will run until about 1300h. Joining instructions and further details will be sent out on the Friday before the event. As usual please only sign up if you're 100 per cent sure you can come as taking up a space that you don't use is seriously frowned upon. And just for the record, removing yourself from the list at the last minute doesn't make it OK!

As always there will be refreshments available from the Silverstone cafe and we'll be setting up the PH shop so you can grab yourself some new T-shirts, hoodies, mugs and stickers.

Please note once more that if you do book track time, your name does need to be added to the Sunday Service calendar as well. If you are going on track you will be parked in the paddock but, as the areas are next to each other, you will be able to wander around looking at the cars in attendance.

Sign yourself up via the calendar here and we'll see you there!

The PH Team

N.B. Like all on track activities this event will be subject to stoppages and weather conditions. Fingers crossed for another day of sunshine!

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know that we're also looking to offer heavily discounted track day insurance courtesy of Moris, just like we did last time around. More details on this will follow in due course, so keep your eyes peeled for an update.

I'll be amazed if it has - I bet there is just a problem with Silverstone's online store as it has only been live for 27 minutes!

I'm chasing them now and will report back once I've got hold of them...

I've now spoken to Silverstone and there is indeed a minor issue with their online store. There are lots and lots and lots of places still available, so give them 30 mins to sort the online store out and try again.

enjoy!

Hi JD, could you tell us if Chris will be doing the photography again? Wouldn't mind paying some shoots of my car on track! Cheers!!
He certainly will! Details of how to book Chris for specific shoot and / or to buy any shots he gets of you on track will be included on the joining instructions that you'll receive via email before the event.

Hi all,

I've just spoken to Silverstone again and they're having some serious IT issues. However, they're confident that they'll sort it soon. The guys at Silverstone have had about 20 messages and they said that they'll process all the enquiries as soon as their site is fixed.

However, they also asked me to stress that everyone is in the same boat and they don't seem to be able to sell tickets, so there are lots of places left and no one will miss out!

Still can't book track time.

Did Pistonheads have a partner offering trackday insurance last year? seems overkill to buy a full trackday policy for 30 minutes on track for a single session but will be taking the Huracan on so would like some cover!
See my first comment above!

This would be my first Sunday service, does anybody have an idea how far down the reserve list they usually get? I assume at 700+ I have two hopes...little and none?
The last Silverstone Sunday Service they were able to extend the list so stay hopeful. if not 200 drop outs is a big ask, although the weather isn't looking great and you'd be surprised how many people have family engagements they had completely forgotten and can't get out of that they suddenly remember Friday or Saturday night when the weather forecast is confirmed as poor! redcard
Just FYI the reason that we were able to extend the attendance list last time out was because the over flow paddock was (mostly) not in use. We've asked if we can use this area again (after all, why wouldn't we want as many people there as possible!)... but we're waiting to find out from Silverstone if it is free or not.

Hi all,

We've now can confirmation from Silverstone that we definitely won't be allowed to extend our numbers this time I'm afraid... and Moris are not able to provide the insurance for track taster sessions either for technical reasons.

None of which is the news that we hoped to be able to deliver, but none the less I'm sure the Sunday Service will be a great event and we look forward to seeing you at the weekend.

Oh, and the windscreen badges and joining instructions will be sent out on Friday as usual and if you cannot come but are on the list PLEASE REMOVE YOURSELF FROM IT!!!! wink

Thanks

JD
