Honda Sunday Service 08/10

We're back in Bracknell for a Sunday Service at Honda HQ

The PH Sunday Services are coming in thick and fast, hopefully easing you into the winter months as the temperatures drop and the nights draw in. We still think shorts are acceptable until at least November, though. So coming very soon we have the Honda Sunday Service which the wonderful people at, er, Honda, have made possible!

Cars other than Hondas are welcome...
Cars other than Hondas are welcome...
It will be taking place on October 8th at their facility in Bracknell; on display will be the Honda Heritage fleet, including the Integra Type R and Accord Type R, which is eagerly awaited by us (and you, I'm sure!) - please don't get too much saliva on the cars though, they're pretty damn rare and we'd like to maintain a non-awkward relationship with Honda if possible. There will also be pretty much the whole model range on show, including new and old NSXs, the Civic Type R, and the new Clarity fuel cell.

Another little treat from Honda will be the current BTCC car, with one of the team mechanics on hand to answer any questions you may have about it!

... no, really, they are!
... no, really, they are!
The Sunday Service will run from 0900-1300h and there will be space for 100 cars, but plus ones/the whole family are more than welcome! There will also be a food/coffee van on site where you can buy your breakfast from. The calendar is live, so sign yourself up quick here.

See you there!

Date: October 8th, 2017
Cost: None, but we like biscuits...
Time: 0900-1300h
Space: 100 cars

Address:
Cain Road
Bracknell

Good to see variety back, looking at the list we won’t have a repeat of the BMW Sunday service and be very 1 manufacturer heavy.

If you didn't make it onto the list can you still attend without the benefit of parking on site?
Yes they have said that is fine in the general SS thread.

Hi all,

Honda have just confirmed they're not limited on space for people, only for cars, so if you don't make the cut feel free to get there by other means! But remember, all cars are welcome - diversity is the beauty of a PH meet! smile

Cheers

What’s the chances of gaining entry to this event if i’ve ‘only just’ (e.g last on the reserve list) signed up????
Not planning on show n shine-ing, just visiting the event.
You can enter on foot but not in your car.

That’s what I expected and all’s good, but what about parking etc? Is there any?
To be fair if you’re not within walking distance then I doubt it’s worth it. It’s one of the smaller Sunday services with only 100 cars and Honda I believe aren’t showing anything off that’s new other than a fuel cell and I doubt you’re excited over that!

I didn't manage to leave this evening and the cheapest hotel wasn't. Instead it's an early night and heading off at silly o clock. I might hit the jet wash on route I guess? smile
Enjoy your early morning start. At least the roads will be quiet.

Just a test to see how many drop out overnight.

Good idea. Slightly disappointing though that people sign up and drop out so close to the event. I noticed “vtecbwah” (sp?) was 101st on friday a check yesterday evening he was upto 84th!

Maybe a solution would be to send a reminder email out on the Monday before then the final one on the Friday.

Thankyou to Honda UK and Pistonheads for another good morning, as expected numbers were low so maybe this needs to be looked at (maybe a pre warning email a week before the event to try and weed out a load of people?) obviously quite a few cars on the reserve list that made it didn’t attend but if you don’t know you’ve made the cut you’re not going to attend.

Great to see the heritage fleet and also the modern fleet of Honda. I can’t help but feel the quality of the steering wheel controls is lower on the civics vs the rest of the range. Was Greta to speak to the Honda team about their lawnmowers I want both now!

Whilst numbers were down I found I spent my time speaking to a lot more members than I have at previous events.

Also big thanks to the member with the green classic dodge, was good to look round the car, and on arrival Home saw a very similar model on cars that rock with Brian Johnson.

Car of the show for me was the Dream Automotive FK8 Type R. Bad-ass car.
I was a bit puzzled by some of the excitement by this car, the part wrap looked odd but I’m guessing it’s all the mechanicals that got people excited. However parked next to a supercharged NSX it soon lost my interest.

I’d happily rate your blue Civic above that it looked great!

Considering I was there at 9 it’s amazing how many cars I missed in the car park that must have left by the time I had a chat and a butty.
