Hi guys, our local sports club is holding it's first ever car meet , midweek on Tuesday 21st August 6pm onwards. Informal, garden party style on the grass with cars spaced out with room to wander around. There will be an electic mix of classics old and new, competition and rally cars, and classic motorbikes. Free to enter and park up, cheap bar and hopefully a nice relaxed atmosphere with some great cars. Any PH'ers able to come along and display will be greatly appreciated!
Address is Holland Sports, Mill Lane, Oxted, Surrey RH8 9DG.

Just done Google maps, er......Mill Lane has speed ramps! there is also a large plateau speed ramp at the entrance to the sports field! For us with lowered cars these are a complete pain in the arse.

Enjoy your meet smile
Sorry, there are some regular usual 1-kerb high traffic calming ramps on the approach road, just like all you get on most side roads nowdays? I have seen Lamborghinis in the carpark here, and Caterhams etc. here , but if your car cannot negociate them them sorry. Not sure where you get the other ramp to the sports field, must have not seen that in the past 19 years coming here 😂👍

Well, yes maybe, but I do not really regard those as a problem, I have driven my bike engined car round here with its 100mm ground clearance since 2004, never had a problem!!! But fair enough, its a fair cop! But any factory car, even a Lambo etc. will not have access problems if they can drive over regular traffic calming measures.

Looks like a good event, unfortunately I own a Ferrari so won’t be attending as it seems we are not welcome ??
What you talkin' bout Lewis???

Why would nobody be welcome?? Where have I said that??

I used to organise kit-car meets which morphed into the first Surrey Pistonhead meets up at the Botley Hill Farmhouse. Those events then morphed into the Grasshopper meets which Umair then fked up :-)
There was no snobbery ever!!!

Your supercars are MORE than welcome!

We will have a mix of classics, moderns, rally cars, VWs, supercars , motorbikes, even some driving music now hopefully...

Please come alone, and I think beer is about £2.50 a pint at the bar!!! 😂👍

Thanks guys, the more the merrier! We have now secured a BBQ there and we will be having a nice "driving music" soundtrack playing in the background, should be a bit different :-)

If everyone turns up from the various places advertised it looks like we could have 100 cars, here's hoping 👍👍
Thanks everyone who has said they will attend. If this first event goes well with the managment then the potential is here for much better things in the future 👍

Good little event thanks.

Nice mix of cars.

Only Downer was a Little kid throwing grass all over my friends car which wasn’t so good then followed up by kicking it and the car next to it. Strange behaviour. Don’t know where his parents were.
Sorry to hear that! In future just throw some grass in the little sts face. Or come and find me and I will throw some grass in the little sts face :-)

Thanks for all the positvive feedback!

Yes the venue were pleased too it went off without a hitch, they are keen to do another. The sold 200 burgers!!! The venue is community members club and supports local charities so they were well pleased. Apologies for the queue at the bar at times, there was at one point 5 staff serving but the queue was out the door! All the people on the BBQ etc. were volunteers, but I think they thought I was half joking when I said I think I can get 100 cars and bikes....

I will certainly do my best to use the venue more, but 100% this will become at least an anual event. Next time the background music should be a little louder, more bar staff and more parking available ( the football pitch was not booked when we booked first, was a bit of a cock up ) maybe upto 200 cars. Also I kniw most of the local garages, like Abbey Motorsport and TJ Motors, they all do something different so maybe I can get them to sponsor a trophy each like best tuned performance car or best custom etc.

The "People's Choice" trophy went to the grey UR Quattro, the top 4 of Quattro, mini, racing e-Type and Consul Capri were only seperated by single votes....

Not sure who had the drone, but if the footage appears on the Oxted FB page I will link it here.

And honestly having organised a few meets in the past I can honestly say that was the best variety, quality and well behaved mix I have ever had the pleasure to get together. Thanks again everyone, bookmark this and I will post up when we do another there!
