We're very excited to announce that we're a partner to the Silverstone Classic (26-28 July) this year.

We'll be taking over the Paddock Cafe to bring the PistonHeads pub, the Pie & Piston, back to life at the heart of the event. As part of our 300 car display area for eligible cars, we've got space for a rather special 'PistonHeads icon' display.

We need 20 cars to park outside the Pie & Piston that epitomise PistonHeads. Ideally we'd like you to attend for all three days (you can drive in and out each day but under restricted times) and these applications will be prioritised, but we'll also consider those who might only be able to attend for one or two. Our chosen cars will receive two free tickets for the duration that they're on display plus a PH goodie bag.

So what are we looking for? Ideally we want a set of cars that encapsulate PistonHeads, be it a classic or modern. We're thinking along the lines of (in no particular order):

- TVRs
- Porsche 911 GT3
- Lancia Delta Integrale
- Peugeot 205 GTI
- Ferraris
- Renaultsport Megane R26R/Trophy R
- Volvo 850R
- Audi R8
- BMW M3
- Mercedes-AMG C63
- Mazda MX-5 Mk1
- Lotuses
- Aston Martin Vantage
- Noble M12
- Caterham Seven
- Alpine
- Subaru Impreza
- Mitsubishi Evo
- Land Rover Defender
- Nissan Skyline/GT-R
- McLarens
- Ford Escort
- Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
- Lamborghinis
- Plus anything else you think we've missed that would be relevant

How to apply

If you're free 26-28 July and have something you think we'd be interested in, please post a photo below with some basic details and the days that you're free to attend. Those with a Readers' Car thread may be favoured, so post a link to your thread if you have one too.

Please submit applications by the 22nd April and we'll notify everyone of the selection on here shortly after.

Not to state the obvious, but how is the coverage on the PH insurance?

If a car is damaged in some way shape or form whilst under the control of PH, is PH picking up the bill?
Good question – the 20 cars in our icon display will be covered under our PLI thumbup

So many fantastic cars thank you! I am going to extend the deadline on this as I've been a bit behind with promoting it, so we'll now be closing in two weeks on the 22nd April.

UPDATE

It's now looking highly likely that we'll have a parade lap for our 20 cars in our icon display each day at the Classic. This is an incredible opportunity to get your car out on track in front of 100,000 people on the full GP circuit at a steady pace. More information will be provided in due course and it will be optional.

We'll now be closing the application for the display after the Easter weekend on the 22nd April, when we'll be making our selection. The good news is the organisers have agreed to open up our club parking area (with an eligibility list); more details available here.

Thanks again to everyone who has applied so far – we've got so many stunning cars amongst us here on PH!

APPLICATION CLOSED

Thank you to everyone for all of the amazing submissions we've had. Applications have now closed, so we'll be making our selection over the next couple of days and will post the results in here very soon.

With only 20 spaces in our icon display we can't have all of you unfortunately, but luckily we have 280 spaces in our club area (next to the icon display outside the PistonHeads pub) – full details on how you can secure your place are available here.

Hi Ben,

How do we know if the cars on the silverstone classic list are ours?

A Megane Trophy R is part of the list for the weekend but none of these were on the entry page, yet two Megane R26r’s were however and one is one of them.

Maybe I’ve been silly and have missed the obvious, so apologies in advance.

Many thanks

Neil
Everyone has been contacted who's in the display, sorry Neil!

Will keep you posted on that one! But hopefully. In the meantime the highlights of the Silverstone Classic will be on the telly Sunday evening, scheduled straight after live coverage of the BTCC at 6:15 on ITV4.

If you can't tune-in, you can either watch on catch-up or repeats are currently scheduled to be shown on Monday 2 September at 19:00 or Sunday 8 Sept at 18:00. Set yourselves a reminder!
