Back by popular demand! An early morning romp across the best roads the South Downs have to offer. We're meeting from 6am for a 6:30 departure from Ockham Common (that doggers' favourite), next to junction 10 on the M25.

We'll be heading, in a roundabout sort of way, to the Hayling Island Sailing Club for breakfast by the sea. It's a very twisty little route so I'd encourage everybody to use the 'leave no man behind' principle. If you always make sure you can see the car behind you (the car in front will do the same) then we shouldn't lose anybody.

Breakfast is served inside the Sailing Club overlooking the channel. 5-item breakfast is £2.75 and 7-item breakfast is £3.75. It's tasty stuff too!

Maps, route notes and sat-nav files can be downloaded here.

It's all common sense stuff that you'd do on any drive:

Don't drive beyond your limits or put any other drivers or members of the public at risk.

On such a complex route it's useful if you try to look after the guy behind you. If he starts to disappear in your mirrors it's good convoy etiquette to ease off and let them catch up before the next turn. If everybody does the same thing then it's difficult to lose people.

I'll be speaking to the manager the week before with approximate numbers. He knows it'll be big.

You can download the route notes, maps and sat-nav files here but let's just say it's on the twisty side.

If you can't connect your Navman to a PC then I'm afraid you've no way of using preprogrammed itineraries. If that's the case then I can't see any alternative to programming the route yourself from the maps.

I would suggest the more enthusiastic drivers set off earliest, so if you want to take a more leisurely drive just don't be first out of Ockham Common.

Yes, we can squeeze another one in. The Sailing Club are briefed for 'around 100 cars' so I think I should cap numbers at 110 to avoid anybody going hungry.
