With December speeding past faster than Eddie Irvine on a moped, it's time to start thinking about the important event of this month. No, not Christmas or New Year, but the latest Leighton Buzzard Meet 'n' Beer.

For only the second time in the short history of this event, there will be a run beforehand. Those who've over-indulged are welcome to jog or cycle round the course, but for the rest: a nice blast out in a sportscar to clear the festive cobwebs.

The proposed route is here (thanks to Darren - FWD - for his mastery of AutoRoute).

The date is Sunday December 28th

The time is 10.30 (Oggs' time for the route is 1.5 hours)

The start is here We'll start at the carpark 'p' that is next to the A4146 marker. Entrance is off hockliffe street (Carpark behind library if you know L-B)

The finish is here"The Grove Lock" which everyone seemed to enjoy at LB-IV.

If you don't want to do the run, join us at the Pub anyway. We'll aim to be there about noon (ie when they open). The pub manager recommended we arrive early, and is looking forward to seeing the Tivs again (this time in daylight), so Come on down You know you want to!

Important Notes:

1) We may shorten or completely can the run depending on the weather on the day. Hopefully it will be a crisp clear sunny day, but trying to follow a route in the pouring rain isn't anyone's idea of fun!

2) I will be in the MGB. On the A41, those who want to "give it large" are more than welcome to do so ( permitting). I'll be pottering along as best possible. I propose that we all regroup after we leave the A41 near Bourne End

3) Remember before any overtaking that we will be filming the run. The resulting footage may lead to some urine extraction at a later date.

Edited to change the rendevous point off the A41, because I've got the wrong point!!

Morning All,

I've added the confirmed start-time of 10:30. Yes, I know it's early, but the route takes about an hour and a half!

The route is being tweaked slightly because autoroute went the other way round Tring than I wanted! It actually should simplify the instructions slightly. Also, when you leave the A41, ignore the instructions to go backwards and forwards across the A41, instead just come off and turn toward Berkhamsted. Once again autoroute decided to only recognise the junction point on the otherside of the A41!

Well, looks like there'll be a good turn-out. Hopefully the weather will be like today as it's dry and sunny here!

Any more takers for a run?

...And how great would that be?!

I could spend all morning trying to get a 1100 Festa tp keep up with a shed-load of TVRs round a load of b-roads...actually, that could be quite fun

Dunno what the problem is, I'm leading the route in my MGB Roadster, them nasty big boys in their Tivs will just have to pootle along at what ever speed I want to do Now, where did I put my flat cap and pipe?

Current forcast is for overcast conditions. Overnight-rain "should" have cleared before dawn. Roads may be damp, but should be free of ice. Chance of isolated showers in the morning, but drier and brighter later.

See you all there.

Apart from a few flames, the MG seems to have enjoyed her workout. Must get the tank seen to and the exhaust re-bolted, but probably will get the Jag fixed first. Nothing like providing entertainment for the drivers following me eh?

Glad the route went down well, I didn't even manage to take the wrong turning once! Look out for next month's meet in a few weeks.

Thanks to all who came along,

They are mainly of me overtaking ferrari, exige and cerbera which is the only time i'd ever get a chance to overtake great cars like that

Hey don't knock it, I managed an MX-5, Ferrari, Exige, Cerb, 911, Cav, etc. not bad for a '66 MGB!! OK so everyone else was slowing as I was the only one who knew the route, but hey, I still did it!!!

Glad everyone enjoyed themselves.

As a result of Sunday, I'm not going to sell the MG. It was so much fun, and so involving to drive that I think I'd be making a mistake getting rid of her. All I need to do now is fix the petrol leak

It must be LB fun runs that does it, I used soooo much juice on the last one!
Not this time.... Sheepy had flames out the back....
I'd pay for that on mine

I don't mind the flames out of the exhaust, looks quite good and sounds pretty impressive, but the petrol slopping out when I brake heavily is a bit worrying (The top of the tank is rusted). Hoever I need to get the Jag back on the road before I can take the MG off! Why is it that when you have two cars, they break at the same time?

If you took pictures or video footage, can you please contact Oggs as he's going to try and collate all the stuff into a single video (as he did for the last run we did).

TIA
