1.9 DDIS - Intermittent White Smoke

Hi all,
Just purchased a 2008 Grand Vitara Diesel. Engine is a 1.9 lump from Renault I believe. Currently on 80k.
Issue that I am having is an intermittent white smoke cloud from the exhaust. It seems to be when it slightly warmer (not a cold start issue), but can go away 10 minutes later for no reason.
Owner failed to notify me of an engine replacement (not under warranty) so I'm going to see where I stand on that front and whether I can send the car back (private sale and all that).
Anyway, I'd like to get it sorted so any help would be amazing.
