Alright

New here ,so hello to everyone, I was after some help .I have brought a Seat Altea 2.0 Tdi 140 BKd engine(full service history ) around 5 months ago. In the last few weeks it has been a pain to start .The engine cranks over till the oil warning light pops up. it can do this 3-4 times before it fires up .Once running it runs fine , and will then start on first turn of key for rest of the day. Even the day after it will be fine , Come the second day if left standing (My daily is a sprinter van ) it will take 3-4 tries to get it to fire ,I was thinking air in fuel line somewhere, I don't really know that much about Tdi and this is my first diesel . Also no codes stored, but only scanned with a vgate VS450, Don't own Vcds
Any help would be appreciated

Chris

It's was around the time . But hard to say as don't use the vehicle every day. And with with infrequency of the issue. It seems to happen if car is left for around 24 hours .

Changed the coolant temp sensor two weeks ago, and had been fine up to today, today it cranked but instead of the normal cranking , It did a splutter or two and started up . Starting to get annoying.

When running it seems perfect. Been starting like a dream all week. Till just now cranked and cranked and cranked then started.. cheers for all the info .I've read somewhere about the flywheel needing a certain rpm before it injects fuel .could it be starter motor I know it's not the typical symptoms of a failing starter. Or could it be software problem .
Other than, this once every now and then, starting issue . the car does not miss a beat.
I have a little rust on fuel filter lid. If it is letting air in would it be more routine so to speak.as this is very intermittent.

Cheers again for plethora of information

Just received the new fuel filter a bosch one , i noticed the oring on the bosch one seems a lot thicker, than the Wix filter oring, will swap them over tomorrow after work
