My starter motor has 2 terminal posts similar to that on the right in the photo only smaller in diameter, something like 4.5mm
I'm trying to find the female connector to go on these posts.

Any ideas if such a connector is available ?

I've tried the usual female bullet type but they tend to work loose

Cheers

There isn't a lot of room and the main battery lead runs thru the middle of the 2 posts so I would prefer a push on connector if at all possible

so you need whatever is within the end of a HT-lead that allows it to securely connect onto the threaded end of a spark-plug?
I don't think so. The threaded end of a spark plug has a cap that screws on and then the ht lead just pushes over that doesn't it.

I'm not sure wether it's actually a thread or just looks like one.

The connectors I've pictured...certainly the female one....would fit on a coil but it's too big for my starter.

I don't know if it's clear from the picture but the left connector fits on the right connector so the internal of the female has something that grabs on the 'thread' to stop it falling off

Going by memory that solenoid stud hasnt got a thread, I have fitted a nut to several of these studs but there is the possibility of snapping the stud off or breaking the solenoid cap

This will do the job, there is a grab ring built into the terminal. http://www.repairconnector.com/products/GM-Ford-Ch...
That looks like the jobbie,,good find, not surprised it's in the US as the starter is American Ford.
The chances of finding that part in the UK are pretty small I'd imagine but at least I know what I'm looking for. Thanks

Unfortunately that company don't ship to the UK

Found 1 that will $23 for 2 including shipping
