Ok, whilst there is no magic wand, what would be the best way to restore a engine, that has laid idle for some years (apart from periodic turning over to get oil moved about) back to running condition?
As it's fitted with high lift cam I am toying with 're doing lobes lifters etc with something like Torco MPZ assembly grease, seafoam in the cylinders initially before fitting plugs for running.
Would there be any point in a running in oil for initial runs (say up to operating temperature) followed by a change of oil and filter (or two) before final fill with a ester based oil for the longer term .
Any ideas or hints appreciated.
