Toyota Landcruiser wheel bearing or driveshaft?
Discussion
I recently fitted a new driveshaft as the old one had a damaged cv joint and was clicking, it’s been fine for a few weeks but now I’m getting a sort of whirring noise which seems to be at a constant speed when driving, when I’m turning left it gets worse and right it gets less, I’m thinking it’s more likely a wheel bearing that’s starting to go but as the driveshaft is the only new thing on it I don’t know?.
Is there any way of reliably checking if it’s a wheel bearing and which side it would be?.

If it gets worse turning left, that is when there is most weight on the right hand wheel so it will be the right bearing.
Thanks, that’s what I thought, but wanted to double check before I ordered a new one, is there any way to check it’s definately the bearing?, they’re not cheap on these!.Gassing Station | Engines & Drivetrain | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
