I've had a look round at what plugs I should have in the V8 and have seen places like V8 Developments recommend BP6ES as a standard plug.

I pulled the plugs to have a look at the state of them and was quite impressed at the colour, however they are BP5ES which appear from a bit of research to run hotter than the 6.

What to people run in the Rover V8 as standard? Is the BP5ES a wrong-un and should I change? - It's running fine and the plug colour is good.

It's in a Land Rover and I do plan to do some events in it so will switch to a 6 I think. It's completely standard but will be worked hard so a hot plug could do damage.

It really does not matter what others are running. If you know how to read the spark plugs the engine will tell you if the spark plug that is in it is to hot, or to cold, or just right.

laugh I shouldn't have looked on line. Just pulling the plugs showed a good colour on them - back in they went!!
