Twin turboing a 3.5 V8 sd1

simply is it possible? If so what needs to be done?
Eg compression ratios new pistons yadda yadda yadda.
would the Garrett turbo from a landy 300tdi work? (obviously x2)
Just a nutty notion of mine!
PS How hard is it to rebuild a 3.5? I may be able to get one for 150 or under, but I'm wondering if its worth it, because an old v8 can be mullered.

Well I May Be able to get this one quite cheap. It Also needs to be SD1 because of insrance or somthing. 
Not sure what the compression is, but its probably going to need new pistons anyhow, so I can make it what I want. The problem of detonation from the charger.... If I am running turbos, and fit decent intercoolers, would that be sufficient to cool the charge enough from when it gets compressed?
Looked a bit of a nadger basher to me. Oh well Should prove intresting when in. (mpg is pretty poor tho!)

I dont particularly want to use water. And Its a carbed engine from what I gather. I'm doing this as a sort of project, which will help woth my desired Uni choice of Motorsport engineering. I think the LR 300tdi turbo is a G3. I only really understand TDi's, so any help on the carbed petrol front is MASIVELY appreciated.

Cool. Well all I have to do now is find me an A frame, some tools and pull the old engine out and sell it. once thats done I can set about buying this engine and playing with it so to speak. Boosted.... those manifolds you talk of, are they to fit the 3500 engine? If so how much do you want for them? (or are they lying around as in free

Im green in the form of engines, so I will have to go soley on the advice of you guys. I was originally going to leave it as a normal V8..... But thats just boring. So far from what I gather the hollies and a blow through system seems best. I havent a clue what turbo to use. No point sticking a HOOOOOGE one on when im limited to boost pressure. I think the way im going to do this is view each side as a 1.75 4pot and work it that way.
Im Very thankful of the help and ideas thats been given. If I ever get this notion off the groud I'll trailer it to the next P'Fest.

WOW nice site. I could fit one of those beasties in lol. Tho I think they are a little bit more expensive hehe. Theres not much point in ringing you yet, as I havent gotten an engine yet. I put a post up to see if it was possible. Thanks for the offer tho. IF all else fails Itll just be a N/A V8. Mmm drool 5.7litres

Err what do you do with the engine your remove from customer vehicles? Are any of those Rover V8s? (I'm in brown nose/blag mode here) If you have some older kit thats clogging up works (makin assumptions here) perhaps I could relieve you of it?

Here's a link to the engine thats currently in my motor. AS you can see I like to keep my kit in good order. Maybe If I can get someone to buy it, I can get the show on the road so to speak.
