yeah but thats all so boring where as a turbo would A) make life more fun straight away,
B) Be an instant power increase

then i suppose going for the tried an tested method of tuning with cams carbs, an head modding is a safe method.

Hi

I'm from South africa....own a MK5 XR6 "interceptor"....it came out standard with the 3 42 DCNF webers on it. While the setup is very very good (power is excellent....fuel consumption is excellent if you dont drive like a hooligan), we're currently grafting 2 T3 turbos onto the engine (using the carbs, no EFI)
Its actually easier to do than you think, although...as you say, everything will have to be made up since no off the shelf stuff is available. I aim to spend a max. of about R6000 (about 500 pounds) and have a reliable turbo setup.

well you will have to keep me informed of how it is all going what is the turbo off? and could you send picture for it so far?

home blown engines not as hard as you think .. TVR did it for you in a very basic manner with a pressure fed weber in a sealed box .. crude but gave good power (although seemed to set the TVR trend for quoting higher power than it actually made in real life) .. have a look at a 3000M or taimar turbo next time you see one at a show

do you have picture of this type of home blown engine etc?
