gearbox for pinto engine
Discussion
I have a 2.0L pinto with a 4 speed gearbox, built 1981. I want to change it for a 5 speed box, I have bought a ford type 9 box.
is the type 9 the correct box?
will the splines on the box fit the clutch? spigot?.
I have noticed the engine mount is 20mm further forward on the 5 speed than the 4 speed. and the drive shaft has a rubber block not a uv joint.
will they swop over? or do I need a totaly new drive shaft?
has anyone tried to change the box on a TVR Tasmin 200?
any use full comments welcome.

i am only putting 101 bhp through the box, I am trying to get as much info as possible as it would appear I have to remove the engine/gearbox to do the work. not enough room in the tunnel to get the box out. Thanks for the advice i will try and find a book or two. any more advice please post.
