Afternoon all,

I've hankered after a QP for sometime and feel if I don't buy one relatively soon, I never will.

I'm specifically interested in the GTS 4.7 and there are some nice ones for sale, albeit at quite full prices but I fancy a change from my Panamera GTS, which whilst competent, lacks the drama/exotic characteristics of the QP.

Now that these are getting on a bit, would any owners or former owners mind sharing the dos and don'ts from a buyer's perspective? Buyers guides on these are not easy to find and other than big items like the variators on the 4.7 autos, information is relatively scant. I expect from a hardware point of view, these are relatively similar to the Granturismo, which seems quite robust. We've all heard the 'my mate had one of these and it bankrupted him...' stories but everyone I have spoken to who has owned any recent Maseratis seems to have had a fairly predictable ownership experience (maybe they bought well?).

I have searched the forums and looked at sportsmaserati but I haven't found either to be very illuminating. I know these are rare beasts and perhaps the lack of bad press (the most common kind!) is a reasonably good omen.

I would anticipate having an annual budget of around £3k to take care of servicing/maintenance and I wouldn't expect anything like Japanese levels of reliability or parts prices. I know that items such as the brakes, headlight units, door mirrors, replacement wheels etc etc will cost a fortune, but would be very grateful for any information.

Has anyone had any good experiences with after market warranties on these cars? Suspect that might be a silly question...

Any help much appreciated!
