How bad is the clutch on the DuoSelect gearbox?
Discussion
Just watched this, which is well worth a watch in its own right.
However, he mentions the issues with the F1 DuoSelect gearbox eating clutches. Are they really this bad?
Looking on Autotrader, you can get the Quattroporte for quite attainable money these days.
Looks lovely.

Obviously, anyone paying this kind of money for a car, probably isn't going to be able to afford regular expensive clutch replacements.
I guess my question is. Should cars like this be avoided? Or is the issue with the clutch a little overdone on the internet?

A Mk V QP is a nice proposition but would strongly recommend one with a ZF box.
I don't doubt it. Although looking on Autotrader, the 6 speed auto ones are 2 1/2 times more money...... which is a pretty big step up in outlay if you are considering something of the value I posted in the opening thread.Gassing Station | Maserati | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
