Damn my misses and her AMG!
Discussion
Since my partner has had her AMG I have been fighting my urges to go and sell the ute and buy another rs6, I know it brought me nothing but heartache but I miss that ability to trounce almost anything on the road (wasn't standard) whilst being really comfy at the same time and having all the nice extras that you just don't get with a holden.
My ute didn't even make 300bhp at surrey rolling road, although figures are not the be all and end all it's how it makes you feel, I am down on power now and can't keep up with some average cars.
Wish I was in a position to supercharge/turbocharge but am not in a position to spend the cash for at least 2 years.
Although my partner lets me drive hers when I want it's not the same as when it's yours.
I know the sort of responses I will get on here but reading a few posts recently I know I'm not alone on this, it's probably a no go anyway as a green ute is not going to sell straight away lol!

I think I have seen your ute near me......Wokingham way.....looked the part (forgot to put up a spotted).
1 question, how is an RS6 affordable and a SC setup not? Bottom line is its your money so go for what ever blows your skirt up.
All my money is in the ute, can afford to get an rs6 for that but it will probably be another dog!1 question, how is an RS6 affordable and a SC setup not? Bottom line is its your money so go for what ever blows your skirt up.

From what I've read of the RS6 it's a nightmare, although I've never owned one and probably never will.
To be fair I get the AMG thing. I really do like the C63 and that would be my next choice, but the money they are still commanding means it's a no go for me for ages yet, and for less than the cost of the C63 the Monaro I have and love can be modified to at least keep it honest if not trounce it (opinion not fact!).
Ultimately owning a car like this is only logical if you enjoy it and if you don't then it's time to get rid. That's what I've always thought and will stick by.
A c5 rs6 is a nightmare to keep, even when you think it's all good something expensive is just round the corner, to be fair the e55 is floating my boat more, but like James said they are a bit forgettable when you see one unless your a car nut, but I only want the car to turn my head sod everyone else lolTo be fair I get the AMG thing. ^^^^ I was wondering how long it took before this thread got some external attention!
Standard, an LS2 Monaro is only 50bhp shy of a C63. A cam will get you on par with one, a cam and heads gets you considerably in front.
The other side is of course a remap on a C63 gets you to over 500bhp.
Love monaros but I know what I would rather be sat in! Outta my budget though Standard, an LS2 Monaro is only 50bhp shy of a C63. A cam will get you on par with one, a cam and heads gets you considerably in front.

It obviously hasn't got under your skin. I respect the C63 hugely, but there's something 'synthetic' about them- to me, a muscle car should be raw and unpretentious.
Having said that, I'd love an CLS/E63 AMG (the bi-turbo version).
Was in Merc Southampton the other day and struggled to walk away from a e63 bi turbo in white, stunning!Having said that, I'd love an CLS/E63 AMG (the bi-turbo version).

No one in their right mind would drive a Monaro anywhere if it was that or a C63, let's be honest. It may have 1800bhp, but it's still a bag of ****.
Is that not a bit harsh?Don't know who invited you to this thread but you are really not welcome here, in fact with a comment like that I'd say your not welcome on pistonheads either.

yeah, the problem is your missus has a better car and it makes you feel unhappy inside? Often a common trait in relationships where the woman has the power, look at Mike Paublamo or whatever he was called
The main thing is it's not quite as fast! Phew! It's the quality that makes me want German again, but this thread reminds me of the person I was becoming when I had the audi, that puts me off!
