Quick question, but really wanted to take the boy out (8 months old - taken this long to persuade the wife to let me) last weekend, put our spare baby seat in the back of the Monaro (as it's smaller than our main seat we have permanently ISOfixed in our main car), and the seat belts don't go round it! I'm assuming there is no ISOfix in the Monaro?
So, on account of that - what seats to other people use that fit? Or do I need to buy a seat belt extension or something? (Not sure the wife would be happy with that!). confused

Yeap, I got a seatbelt extender thing from the bay... and use our maxi-cosy baby seat as I think most of the safety comes from the structure of the seat.... not necessarily how it's fixed to the car.

What kind of accident would you have to be in for a seatbelt extender to be an issue?!
Hoping you would answer as i know your car is same as mine and only marginally younger baby! Think our small seat is a Maxi-Cosy too.
I know what you mean, but you know what these women are like - law un-to themselves mostly! I'll look for an extender and see how it goes - couldn't believe it, got car out, took seat out of the Legacy, then tried to fit it in and was not having it!! Was gutted! I know secretly the little man is desperate for a drive out in the Ro, he just doesn't know how to communicate that yet.....................................

Just found this old thread which may help

It seems that not all Ros have ISOFIX, but try to avoid the need for a belt extender if you can.
Thanks for that - had a read through. Pretty sure mine doesn't have it but will double check. Mine is the 04 CV8 big boot rather than facelift CV8 or VXR. Some of those seats mentioned have probably now been superseded too.

I've now changed to a Monaro VXR over the CV8 I had when I started this thread. My little'n is now 2 years old and his current seat does not fit in the back of my Monaro, it sits on the seat bolsters rather than in between them and although it straps in, it does not feel at all secure with lots of moment.
I think Mark (007) used a Recaro Young Sport in his and said it fits well and swears by it, though I think that has now been superseded by the Young Sport Hero which I am looking at to see if it fits as that will cover my lad up to 12 years. If you know where to look, there are still new Recaro Sports for sale online though. To be sure, I will take it to Mothercare of somewhere and actually get them to try and fit the Young Sport Hero before taking the plunge.
The other consideration is actually getting the car seat into the back - the front seats do move and fold forwards, but not to a huge degree, and without risking shredding the headlining or damaging the seats, some of the larger car seats will probably not even be able to squeeze into the back.
I'm sure (hopefully) some of the others will come along to share their experiences soon, as I've certainly bumped into a couple of people at meets with car seats in the back, so it would be interesting to see what they currently use.
At the moment though, my boy, despite showing an early interest in cars (result), has yet to have a ride out in the car.
