Satnav choices
Discussion
Since the subject of sat navs raised its head in the Gen F thread recently, I thought that I would query the accumulated forum wisdom on my options for an E3 satnav.
So, I have an E3 with no satnav fitted. Personally, I actually quite like the built in units - I have one in the E1 VXR8 and whilst it is a bit of a pain getting the address entered, once you are off and running, it is quite effective and gets me all around the UK and France quite happily. I also detest stick on units like the tomtom or garmins or ipads or phones - just dont like them stuck on the trim or windscreen or the marks that the suction mounts leave behind afterwards. So I want to be able to use the built in screen.
I have been told that the E3 unit is the same as the ones used in the E1 - but those come in at £1200-£1500 which is a bit steep - to put it mildly.
So I am guessing that my only viable option is to look for a second hand E1 unit (and hope that it works) unless anyone knows of a better solution that would still utilize the built in screen. I did see something about people using bluetooth to connect something from their phone but that was on a VF.
Does anyone know of any other approach to getting satnav in place using the existing built in screen?
Thanks
Phil

There seems to be a bit of misleading info given here. So, I have an E3 with no satnav fitted. The E1 and E2 have the same radio unit but the E3 is totally different.
