2007 VXR8 20 inch rear tyre recommendations?

Morning :-)

I am in need of a new set of rear tyres for my 2007 VXR8.

She is running Conti Sports on 20 inch GTS wheels at the moment, but I'm looking for a little more protection for the alloy as the current 275/30/20 profile of the conti's leaves the wheel quite exposed.

I don't want to compromise grip so not looking for budget, just a quality tyre that might help protect the wheel a little more than the conti's have done.

Anyone have any recommendations?

I do like the sound of the Michelins.

Has anyone got any experience of stepping up a size from 275 to 280/285? Just wondering if this might help my stretched tyre issue but not sure the 280/285 will fit.

I did take the car to my local tyre place to show them the issue but he didn't mention going up a width could help.

Will try and post a picture tomorrow of the rim/tyre issue, if I can remember how to post pictures!

Thanks for the extra feedback, here is a pic of how the alloy currently sticks out from the 275/30's I have on at the moment.

I am thinking of going wider 280 or 285 to help protect the wheel.

I've decided to try a set of the Bridgestones and stick to my current tyre size this time.

Really appreciate the comments, most people don't even know what the car is let alone what would be a good tyre choice!
