Been having on ongoing problem with my Monaro VXR (LS2) randomly going into limp home mode for a while now, had it plugged into diagnostics which pointed the finger at the throttle position sensor. Would this mean changing the whole throttle body or can you just change the sensor? Any advice would be gladly accepted. Cheers. smile

I would almost put money on it being the throttle body and not the throttle position sensor.

Had the same problem with mine 5 years ago.
I came across the old thread for that earlier on Pete, so yours was randomly going into limp home without warning? Has it been okay since replacing the throttle body? Looks a fairly simple fix bearing in mind i'm a mechanical technician by trade. smile

Obviously you'll need to ensure part matches your own...prices seem to have increased a bit since I last bought a couple last year.

You'll find some sellers selling new take off units too...but also beware, there are places selling aftermarket pieces and Chinese versions.

Delco/GM will have a proper part number and one of those little square barcode things on it
Brilliant. Cheers for that. smile

Just got a UK price for LS2 throttle body from two different sources - and they are £600. The two places are Partsworld (from their website), and LS Performance Parts who i messaged yesterday.

When you buy a new throttle body, does it come complete with a new throttle position sensor already attached, i.e the cylindrical bit that the wire plugs into? Cheers...

Good idea, cheers for that Simon.......when you did install the new throttle body, was it just a case of one out, one in - or was there some 're-learning' involved with the ECU? I've even considered ditching the LS engine and installing an old skool Chevy V8 with a Holley 4 barrel on the top instead! Ha ha...

Finally took the plunge and ordered an OEM throttle body from Rock Auto, and it worked out at roughly half the price of Partsworld and LS Performance! Including shipping and all import fees etc it came in at around £320. Just hope it cures the problem now! smile
