Monaro oil pressure sensor / switch high

Well, after little more than 2 months of Monaro ownership the car's thrown up its first (minor) problem.
I got a check engine warning a couple times in the past few weeks that seemed to clear itself so I thought little of it. The third time, however, it came on and stayed on so I thought I ought to get it checked out. The engine showed no obvious signs of distress - smooth running, no loss of power, no change in fuel consumption, no oil consumption etc.
The fault code was as follows: P0523 Oil Pressure Sensor High
The actual reading had flat-lined well above normal operating range according to my local garage and did not change at all whether the engine was idling or revving. The oil pressure sensor seemed to be the culprit and a quick search on this forum showed me that my car is not the only one this has happened to.
The garage contacted Vauxhall for the part and was quoted £250!!!!! That's daylight robbery. Fortunately I'd already been on the Rock Auto site to see what they went for State-side, $20-$25. I elected to source the part myself and a quick call to AAS in Newcastle was all I needed. The part arrived in the post within 48 hours for a fraction of the cost and was fitted yesterday with a 0.5 hour labour charge. The car is fine now.
