Remapping?

I had my vxr8 remapped a few years ago now. Will it need to be redone or will that map last the life of the car?

Thanks for the replies, I wondered if disconnecting the battery or something might affect the map.

The car is used year round, I have had a new battery and disconnected a battery before so was wondering if that had altered the map.
I've not got any problems with the car.
