I was coming back from castle motors in Cornwall last weekend, when a valve spring let go.
I am now the owner of one destroyed engine.
A well known garage has quoted me £10,000 for a new LS3.
Does anybody on here know where I can get one, not the corvette or Camaro as they
are different apparently.
Gutted my pride and joy owned her from new 2008.

I don't know why the spring has failed, I am waiting on the garage to give me more info.
The car has done 75,000 miles has always been serviced on time by Monkfish.
I did have magic cams and exhaust fitted by MF.
The last 6 years I have only been doing 3000 miles per year.
I have thought about selling her several times, but when you don't drive her for a month to six
weeks and then get in and fire her up (insert smiley face here don't know how to do that) I am hooked all over again.
It is a hell of a lot of money to spend when the car is only worth £16000, but if I don't the car is only worth scrap.

You will have to excuse my ignorance what is a 24x to 58x box and how much are they.
I will follow my heart and put a new engine in, but what a dilemma.
Someone has a rebuilt engine for sale and it has been done with all the right bits.
Holmart have a brand new supercharged one, but that would hurt the bank account
and at this time of year.

Hi guys I am thinking of buying this engine from parts world performance.
It has the 58x trigger wheel which my car needs but I have no idea if it will fit.
Possibly the sump pan wont fit.

Your write John Monkfish have spoken.
I will get the LS3 and get Walkinshaw to fit bigger cams before the engine go's in.
I didn't think I would get 5 pages of comments, a lot of it way over my head.
I would like to thank every body for their thoughts on the matter, and I have come to terms
with the fact my wallet is going to take a hammering.
At least I will have her back on the road.
