Hi all, I was previously on here a few years ago when I had a red Monaro CV8. I’ve been through a few cars since and nothing does it for me like the old Monaro so I’ve now headed back in that direction and bought a 2009 SS ute from MWP. I’ve not picked it up yet but damn excited about getting it, just wondering if there are many other owners posting here?

That’s awesome! No idea how many are about but there are never more than a couple for sale at any one time.
I will start a thread of ownership when I pick it up next week, planning a few interior upgrades and possibly new wheels. It’s currently on some rather OTT 20” deep dish things but MWP are swapping them for the standard 19” in black which go much better with the Atomic green.
Here it is on the 20’s....

Is that a Holden with Chevy badges or a Chevy Lumina ute imported from South Africa?
It’s an Australian import but Chevy badged from factory. (Do you know anymore on this?) One owner in Aus and one in Uk who brought it over.

Wouldn’t have come from factory with Chevy badges - Holden didn’t promote that look. However the badges were a relatively popular retrofit even on brand new cars so that is probably what happened. I think some dealers even sold Chevy bits and would fit them - that is probably what happened.
That makes sense, would explain the Holden steering wheel. Needless to say I will be looking for a Holden grill and badge set

I'd be looking for a Matiz 1.2 GL badge to go on the back, but then I'm not quite normal.
Yep the UK’s perception of that brand changed for an entire generation.

She’s home! What a machine. So much fun, feels much more raw and untamed than my old Monaro. Big thanks to MWP, made the whole experience an absolute pleasure.

Just though I would update this thread as I’ve done some work to the Ute.
I’ve fitted new suspension! Vastly improved.
New big brake kit on its way too

Today’s mod. Aerpro facia kit and stereo upgrade. Also replaced door speakers with two way 6.5” and an underseat active sub. Another massive difference to how the truck feels to use.

Thanks for sharing that, it was something I was considering, but silly though it sounds I thought the HVAC screen at the bottom had a really naff looking font / style, and hadn't seen this alternative view that's clearly available. That doesn't look too aftermarket at all, perhaps something I'll add to the wagon scratchchin
It’s I nice bit of kit, probably nicer quality feel than standard (hardly difficult 🤭) ordered from eBay seller David Brash. Delivery took just over a week which was fantastic! Slightly misunderstood the small print though and now need an extra lead if I want the steering wheel volume button the work.

And………… I fitted a genuine front splitter. It’s a four piece kit. The two corner pieces, the centre part that caps the bumper up to the lower grill and then the part behind the number plate. Fitted perfectly

There's a meet in Wakefield on the 17th July, I don't know if you're that way at all or like to travel? I'm 2 hours away but thought I'd head up as it's been AGES since I've been to any Holden meets.
Thanks very much for the invite! Unfortunately Wakefield is three and a half hours away so a bit too far for a car meet, the trouble with living in Norfolk…..

The brakes upgrade is going well, one side done but scuppered by a rusted fitting. New pipe being made tomorrow so hopefully will be bedding in over the weekend

Well that’ll do for a bit! The brakes are bedding in well, I have a road trip in two week so will get the miles up locally before then.
It’s been a busy few weeks but the old Ute feels much more capable and fresher now, well worth the effort.

So a couple of weekends ago me and my son did a 1400 mile road trip in the Ute, across the Uk and touring wales with some like minded guys, their cars included a GT3, M2 comp, C63, M4, M3 and AMG A45. The Ute, with its new suspension and brakes did a cracking job keeping up with the German stuff. The weather at times was shocking and the truck felt planted and safe at all times. The Ute was the only vehicle with a manual transmission and once the other guys had a go on the clutch I think I earned a few respect points!

Can’t wait to get on the road again!!

Great! I did spot the car at the end of the vid posted up from the Caffeine and machine meet. I unfortunately couldn’t make it.

I did manage another road trip the week before though. Using York as a base we headed up north from there over two days.

Another mod for the Ute this week. I’ve never thought much of the standard seats so I’ve upgraded to these! Passenger one has gone in tonight but the drivers side will need a bit of fabrication as I’m retaining the electric height adjustment on the subframe.
They look great though and feel much more snug….
