Air Con Not Working
Discussion
Morning all,
I had a trip out in the RO on Saturday but found that my aircon was dead on turning it on. No cold air at all. Worryingly I had the whole system re-gassed last year and it was ice cold. So that leads me to think that maybe the pump has failed. If so, does anyone know how much a new pump is and if so do I need a breakers or are these available from say a Rock Auto?
Also anyone know where I can get some replacement wheel stud caps (the chrome ones)?

One common reason for the a/c not working is because the system has a leak.
When I bought mine in 2018, the a/c didn't work. I had it re-gassed, it passed the vacuum leak test and it worked for a week then stopped again. Turns out I had a small leak on the pipe that runs on the chassis rail on the n/s. On my car it was under the expansion tank and air filter assembly.
My local garage chopped out the offending section and put a new piece in, it has worked and held gas ever since.
IIRC, after doing much forum searching back then, this is a common place for the Monaro to develop a leak on the system. Worth a look.
Cheers all. I will get them to have a look there. I am tended to think that the system has a leak and there is no gas to keep it cold now! When I bought mine in 2018, the a/c didn't work. However I’ve managed to fracture the vertebrae in my spine in a couple of places…..jeeez talk about being in agony….hopefully in a couple of months I’ll get this back brace off and maybe get the car out of an extended hibernation……we shall see
