I went on the Internet today, and I found this

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234941827106

Proper engine build in that, almost tempting just to put the engine in the Ute!

Not my car or related to the seller, although I have seen it and been a passenger in it and can confirm it pulls very hard!

Ooof! That could go cheap.
You're right, a proper engine build. I'm also tempted, just to drop the engine in my VXR as it has all the sort of parts I'd want to fit to my 5.7
Yep, especially with exchange rates now, a set of heads, valvetrain and such, oil pump, cam etc. is going to add up very quickly even without the cost / labour of assembly, and it being a newly built low miles engine etc. compared to upgrading your own. Plus you end up with your own engine to sell on afterwards.

I'm almost talking myself into it again at this point hehe

I'm sure that was up for sale not that long ago?

Would still like it (still miss my VT2) shame it's not manual...
I saw it down at Australia Day with the for sale in the window, it's been with the same owner for some time. Agreed that if it was a manual, I'd probably have bought it, not that I need another getmecoat

Perhaps I’m being paranoid, but the rapid change of owners and rapid decrease in price sets my spidey senses tingling.

Did it sell at £10,000 before Christmas,? or has it just been re-listed now as an auction ?
Just to confirm, it's been with the same bloke for years, it was he who had all the work done etc.

As Boosted LS1 says above, it does pull very well, it felt like 3rd, 4th and 5th were all the same gear hehe

I heard v8 engines are often compliant , bigger engine , more heat , so cats warm up quicker and therefore compliant , my 04 cv8 is , i was not expecting it to meet ulez rules
I believe it's just to do with their EURO compliance rating. Whether they actually are compliant or are the same engine as a car that is compliant is irrelevant, it's just to do with the model itself being EURO4 compliant (I think it's EURO4 for petrols?)

So the Monaros etc. are fine, but earlier Commodores and such, despite being the same drivetrain, aren't, simply because they are too old so weren't put through the EURO4 compliance testing as it wasn't around, it came in to force in 2005.

Naturally if "common sense" was a factor in any area of bureaucracy then you'd be able to speak to "a person" and explain the reality of the situation, but good luck with that!

(This is my interesting Commodore)

Many months ago, I did enquire with Luis Sola, via Carl Herkes, but the likely issue was/ is the PCS TCM-2650 controller, so he couldn't help me. As of this evening, Jim from Zero Gravity (supplier of said controller) has suggested we try reloading the firmware.......more news soon.
Fingers crossed!
