As the title suggests, the boot release on my Tamora has stopped working, and while this normally wouldn't be a big issue I'm currently touring round Spain!

Yesterday morning went to the car and although everything else worked the boot release was dead, luckily had suitable tools in the cabin so I could use the 'secret' entry technique. Stopped for petrol 30 mins later and it was fine again! Continued to be fine for the rest of the day but then this morning, it made noises like it was trying to release but no luck, then followed by no noises and resorting to the secret approach!

It's the intermittent nature that's most confusing, but if anyone has any suggestions they'd be greatly appreciated.

On the plus side it's no show stopper and the roads over here are fantastic!

Thanks for all the suggestions folks. It's definately not a Fuse problem and a quick spray with wd40 didn't help. I'll cope with my workaround for the next week until i get back and can strip it all back.

Started having a play at the weekend and I've confirmed it's not the boot switch so I'm guessing it's a solenoid failure.

Now I might be being an idiot but how the hell do I get the solenoid out? Do I need to unscrew the boot catch and the whole mechanism should come out?
