They don't last for ever

Finally after 144,000 miles the S6 in my Sag has demonstrated low compression and is off at Dom's
On top of a standard rebuild we need new liners, exhaust valve seats - waterpump rebuild, flywheel, and a clutch ( which had done 77000)
Big bills never come when you expect them - I was aiming for 150K
Bugger
Sure he'll do a good job

As a fellow original S6'er this is very heartening to read. Shows what using it regularly and sympathetically can do. Unfortunately mine is only practical around here April to October/November.
???? I was at the Chateau Impney in the Sag in December and up to Stourbridge in Jan. Mind you th belights on dip beam are a bit pants
Well rebuild completed and car ready for collection, in addition to a standard rebuild we had a water pump rebuild, new liners, thermostat, new valve seats, new flywheel and clutch, lambdas, assorted bearings and gaskets. Be interesting to see how much the performance had dropped off in comparison.
Dom did it in about a week, bloody quick!
Picked it up today and feels like it has a bit more urge (despite 3000rpm limit) so we'll be getting the other 900 miles to run it in done a bit sharpish!
Big thanks to Ade at Central who let me run around in his Volvo whilst the Sag was rehearted.
