Looking for tamora advice
Discussion
Hi there,
I am considering selling my Caterham Supersport r and getting something more suitable to longer drives around scotland. Previously my track usage was more than road but that balance has moved to doing more road trips etc.
Caterham has been great but no stereo, ear plugs, and a hankering after something a little more usable has made me consider selling up.
Immediate thoughts were lotus of some sort however I have always loved tamora's/T350 and I'm thinking a tamora could be an option.
However, fragility is one thing that concerns me as I would still do the odd track day and sprint/hillclimb in it.
Am I worrying unnecessarily?
I see there is an Ls2 engined one for sale just now that looks nice but that would be no use for sprints as wouldn't comply with class regs. I know nothing about the speed 6 engine though!
Cheers,
Dave

Yeah, series 2 Elise piled on the pounds Big percentage gain over the S1 version.
There were a good number of Tamora's for sale at one point this year but they have slowly gone or been withdrawn.
If £25k is your budget then the Target Cars one could be yours for £16. Deliver to Dom from an inspection and engine rebuild (£8k budget).
Add £1.5k for a suspension refresh and set up.
You should then have a reliable solid car.
Interior is a bit rough but deal with that next year.
It could be that Dom finds no issue with the engine. So money for interior refresh.
Have you considered a Tuscan? Both a hardtop and convertible in one. Few more around to choose from.
I used to love the tuscan but now find them slightly awkward looking and much prefer the look of tamora and T350 for some reason. There were a good number of Tamora's for sale at one point this year but they have slowly gone or been withdrawn.

I like cars to be a little bit scary (ie. I'm not really interested in something like a TTRS that will be fast cross country but safe). I'm known for hanging the back end out in the Caterham from time to time (read. most of the time) so this was one thing that had put me off the likes of an exige (which seemed like the initial choice).
TVR itch has been around for a LONG time so maybe this could be the perfect time to scratch it!
