Sagaris asking prices
Discussion
SORRY to ask this but in the current climate and the uncertainty of Brexit is the market price a true reflection on what is being achieved on the sale of Sagaris’s or are sellers being optimistic.
I’ve owned my Sagaris for over three years and last year for the first time I hardly drove it, I was thinking to myself maybe it’s time to sell

ah if i had a pound for every time this discussion came up... i'd buy a second sag.
there were quite a few examples that sold last year at over 80k, some as recently as 2-3 months ago. The current line up on PH is not a good reflection as this is a bad time of year to sell. Spring/Summer will always see a boost.
On top of that the current market across the board is stagnating (not just TVR, but all manufacturers). There are many reasons for this that i can't be bothered typing here (brexit, car market in general, collector/investor sales, liquidity needs...)
I always find it interesting that the ones who say they will go down are always the ones without. Wishful thinking i would say, but i do not know of any owners that would be willing to part with theirs for 50k.
Colour and service history always command a premium, for all other info just search on the forum here for sag prices. there is plenty of debates on it and not much has changed.
Knowing yours and the work that was done (i'm in Aberdeen), i would not let it go for less than 80k
Previously owned by Hollopockets who spent a fortune on it. I personally don’t think we will ever see a Sagaris for £50k unless it’s been written off. there were quite a few examples that sold last year at over 80k, some as recently as 2-3 months ago. Sold mine in April 2018 for £72k. But it was freshly serviced and very mint and only around 17k miles.
The only one car I know of that went for £80k last year was the Str8six example from the show. That was very special too. Happy to see evidence of any others at this level rather than hearsay.
Rocco, if you want a realistic price, call a few dealers. I’d guess you’ll have bids in the late 60’s.
Private market for Sags is very limited and there are loads that have been for sale for ages.
When making reference to “loads that have been for sale for ages” are they 4.3 or 4.0??The only one car I know of that went for £80k last year was the Str8six example from the show. That was very special too. Happy to see evidence of any others at this level rather than hearsay.

I stopped price watching after buying mine and now there seems to be a wide spread on pricing, also don’t see many in eye catching or with a 4.3 engine

It is also worth mentioning that most owners will be waiting for the new TVR to come out (if it ever does) and hoping that it will cause a surge in demand. similar to the Supra's which jumped a reasonable amount last year.
At the very least i would hold on to it for another year and see what happens after the dust settles.
I don’t think we will see a new TVR and if we do it won’t be for at least 18 months. At the very least i would hold on to it for another year and see what happens after the dust settles.
When I was researching and looking to buy a Sagaris I was told the purists and collectors will opt for the 4.0 whereas those who intend to drive the car would opt for the 4.3. Never driven a 4.0 but my 4.3 is bonkers rather like a go kart yet on steroids

A lot of that bill is nothing to do with a 4.3 upgrade … well some of it … If you had a 4.5, cranksensors and a new MBE ECU you'd know what a real upgrade costs and you didn't pay it … Hollowpockets did
If you drive an engine hard and track it , I think you can't be surprised if something breaks.
The billing had everything to do with me the price I paid was a contributing factor. What would you know about driving an engine hard all you ever did was polish more polish and polish and eventually cashing in. Let’s be honest here all you did was turn it into a garage queen for the next person!!If you drive an engine hard and track it , I think you can't be surprised if something breaks.

As was I with my Tuscan but not an issue with most Sags. That 4.3 might well be a nice engine, especially front Str8six but being a modification may actually detract from the value long term
After speaking to a number of tvr specialists the 4.3 engine is well received by those seeking to buy a Sag Edited by PGNSagaris on Thursday 31st January 22:25
