Morning All,

Was away this weekend for one of my best mates wedding - ferrying people about on the Friday and Saturday. Stuff in and out of the boot all day, no problem, then suddenly the button stops working. Pressed it many times, alarm armed and disarmed, still nothing.

I've had a search and can see I need to check the fuses in the drivers footwell - which i will try this evening. However, if I get no joy with that, what else can i check? If it's something gone wrong behind the button, am i able to do a fix or is it a dealer job?

Is there a manual over-ride for getting into the boot?

I managed to get the filler cover open on the way back from Cornwall yesterday - stretching in past the seats. Which was fun with the boot full of luggage. Almost as much fun as trying to fill the boot with the luggage from the front!!

All help/advice gratefully received.

Cheers,

Reply to Sportie...

Presumably that only works until you reset with the alarm fob? This happened on the Friday, and the car was locked/unlocked multiple times since then. Or do I still need to press the internal button again?

I had this problem, apparently fairly common.

Behind the badge you push in to release the boot, is a small bit of rubber held with glue (this is what makes contact)

Overtime the glue may wear off and the bit of rubber will fall out of place, so when you press the badge button there is no contact.

I took it to the dealer and it took them 5 minutes to fix it.

You can prob do it yourself, reach up from inside the little cubbyhole at the back of the boot (where u have your tyre filler spray stuff) and you should be able to feel the nuts holding the badge in place.

You need to unscrew these, remove badge and glue rubber bit back in place
OK, I shall have a look at that tonight... after checking the fuses. Anyone know if there is a specific fuse for the boot release or is it a question of checking all of them?

My T350 doesn't have a little cubby in the back of the boot - it has a speaker. I guess I'll need to take off the leather bolster thing (that covers the rear light clusters) - did that the other day when a brake light went. Or I guess I'll need to take out that speaker.

Stoopid bloody TVR design!!!!! madshootrage If you're gonna make it impossible to get to something like the boot button, then at least make it so that the damn rubber bit doesn't come unstuck and fall out!!!!!

And.......relax! smokin

Right, as you can tell I've not had much luck. As I was looking at the button this evening, a small rubber disc fell out from behind the button - which was as Nish said. So, took the speaker out and found the back of the button. And then spent the last hour faffing around trying to get the nuts off. I think the speaker hole is somewhat smaller than the hatch you guys have!! I think a need a socket set on the end of a flexible extension - neither of which I have.

So, unfortunately I shall have to admit defeat. Unless any of you peeps have either of these 2 implements and live in or around West London??!!

Which will mean a trek out to Henley for them to fix.

Thanks to Mark (Flying) for the chat this eve, who explained perfectly what I had to do - there was just no way I was getting my spanner in there. I leave defeated though! frown

While I'm here can anyone remember who was doing the new rear T350 badges? Mine's starting to look a bit knackered, and if it's gonna be coming off, it might as well get replaced.

Right, time for some dinner.

Damn!

Ah well, mine's booked in for a trip to Henley on Saturday AM to get it sorted.

Anyone know where I can get a new rear T350t badge before then?

Yep, got told about that one. Thanks anyway.

Took the car to Henley in the end, and they did it in about 10 mins! Couldn't see what he did it with thou.... probably should have asked.
