Should I be able to here the fuel pump with ignition on guys?
I am having a devil of a job starting her after a couple of months.
I have checked the relay and fuse to the fuel pump.
I have installed a new alarm and immobiliser but that is working fine.
Does the immobiliser shut the fuel pump off?

well the sequence all plays out as normal.
What exactly does the fuel pump priming sound like?......is it the very low pitched noise you here when the needles are flicking ?

the situation so far.
The vehicle had a bump in the rear and I had forgotton the inertia switch which had triggered.
I have rearmed the switch ( under the passenger footwell cable tied to a strut ).
All to no avail, still the same.
The vehicle wants to fire when the key is first turned, but then it just turns over.
I have checked fuses and relays they are ok.
Can I bridge the relay?....I am sure I can then i can check if the fuel pump works....that would either tell me the relay even though new is at fault or the prob lays further down the line.

I know this thread was started by myself a long time ago, but wanted to report on the final outcome.
Basically the relay I purchased from a well known tvr parts supplier sent the wrong one !
After days of messing about I took the relay to a friend with the same car and discovered the issue that way.
Relay returned, new one recieved next day with apology, all is well.
