.. The chrome bit that runs around the bottom of the roof on a DB9 Volante?

Not the best picture, but it is all discoloured. I use Autoglym metal polish on it at the minute, but it doesn't seem to remove the discolouration, it just makes it shiny frown

Any suggestions for a better product? Preferably one that isn't ridiculously priced.

Seriously though if it is made from the same material as the grille then I think people have in the past proposed a wipe with de-ionised water or even vinegar smile
Will that remove the de-colouration? I will clean it with de-ionised water once it is back to it's former glory smile

Never knew about that thread. Might try the Swissvax metal polish, but I don't want it to just do the same as the Autoglym one does.

All the links are out of date in that thread too frown

Don't you have staff to clean the car !
Not yet, and even if/when I do, they won't be allowed near the cars! There is something so therapeutic and satisfying about cleaning a car. Plus the fact no one else would ever show the same care about the car as I would. Every Saturday after football I assign 2-3 hours for cleaning cars, the ex-girlfriend thought I was incredibly sad for it, but I really enjoy it smile

Im here...right. To be honest, ive not come across the problem on your car, but normally things like that are sorted using a metal polish like the one you have.

I did notice the swirls more in your pic though mate, so that might be something you would want to sort out in the future.

The product buying guide i did needs updating as i want to change some of the links etc. Will do that as soon as i can.
The metal polish just seems to make it shinier, doesn't remove any discolouration, but I can't really scrub it because I'm a bit concerned about catching the paintwork.

The picture is before it has been washed, it hasn't been driven since it was last washed, so I presume they're from the car cover. There aren't usually any swirls on it smile
