The Sat Nav no longer pops-up frown The motor whirs but no movement. Does anyone know if it is accessible to fix if I remove the fascia panel? I couldn't find any information on removing a Vantage 05-07 panel on interweb, just the DB9 video on YouTube. Does it just "pop off" like the DB9 one?

Thanks Banner, must have been quite a job to get the panel off then?

The gear set is about £10 from AM and can be fitted in about 35mins. Easy job if your brave enough to remove the dash trim.
Thanks Black9, I think I'm happy enough to replace the gear set, but does the panel just pop off, or do I need to unscrew something first. If it is just pop off, like the DB9, where should I apply the pressure, i.e. where are the fixing points? Don't want to break the whole piece.

Agreed, a trained homing pigeon on a piece of string would be better. But its totally 'bond' the way it flips up, makes me feel like a secret agent whilst I listen to Propeller Heads 'On her majesty's service'

Mine too has a bit of trouble popping up ( I sometimes have to give it a hand ! ) (Oo-err missus !)

It works, but sometimes does not go fully up, then goes down again on it's own. If I give it a shuve it's fine and stays up, but I'm not sure if it should go up further ?

I do not think it's actually that bad. I have a TomTom One and that is a pile of ste - it crashes more times than a ZX81 with a dodgy RAM pack !
Sounds like 'Carry On Aston'. Ahh the RAM Pack, and the electrically tape I would use to hold in place do stop it losing an hours worth of coding when it wiggled.

Much as I deride the satnav, if you don't have the latest discs for it (with 6 character postcodes etc) then make sure you get them. It improves the system a lot.
I read that recent 14 page thread on SatNav Upgrade, but can't really decifer what you need to buy for a V8V 06 and from where. Could you tell me what you purchased and from where. The part postcode in on my BMW too, it gets right on my chuff. Thanks Murph.

2012 Satnav update discs for a 2005 Volvo XC 90 are compatible with your car. Volvo part number 313 577 34.
These will give you full 7 letter post code search. They are also available online as "backup" discs for much less.
Thanks brakedwell, time to get a set, or shall I ask Santa?

No probs, it's the same as the DB9 to remove, I'll send you a link to download the workshop manuals.
I used a nylon fish slice works a greet with out damaging the panels, I used to use them to remove Sunseeker head lining panels, ALS the video that has been posted is a good guide.
Thanks Black9, sounds a trip to tesco's for a fish slice and maybe a mullet.

Anyone know the part # for the dealer kit that fixes this issue? My dealer had no idea what the heck I was talking about and wanted me to buy a whole new unit.
Dan, I'll post it up later when I get home. It was £6.53 inc VAT, which must make it the cheapest aston part.
