Screeching Brakes

Hello All

As you know may/may not know, picked up the vantage from stratstones just over 1 week ago. After a while, the brakes seem to screech quite loudly (not all the time). Probably only done 400 miles since i've bought it.

I'm wondering if the pads are worn or could it be something else? Any way of checking? I'm thinking whether they are worn although surely they would of checked them before putting the car on sale.

I'm surprised at how common this issue is!
You would think they'd sort this "quirk" out as it's quite embarrassing given how loud it screeches
