£3k? Sounds a bit of a bargain

I reckon the first ones will be going for a £20k premium, even if that's just for the first few months.

Wouldn't have thought it's worth placing a deposit on a car that's not yet confirmed (the S that is). A letter of intent is more likely the way to go.

Still, there appear to be some dealers out there happy to take your money
