Hi all
After speaking to Loose Cannon we wondered if there is any mileage (argh!) in organising a meet up for PH Astons (and their owners) in the North East of England?

As you know we have some great roads, scenery and places to meet.

We were initially thinking of somewhere starting or ending in Co Durham as it's pretty central for Northumberland, Cumbria, Teesside etc but we can always adapt as required.
I gues the one thing we shouldn't compromise on is bacon butties in the morning and somewhere nice for a light lunch or cuppa later.

As it's the first time we've done this we won't be too ambitious and look maybe a 3/4 hour timescale.

Prelimary date is 1000am Sunday 7th May. Again we can be flexible if required.

If you are interested add your details below. Where you would be coming from and any location preferences. I hope we can get at least 6 cars together at the first attempt.

1. James@Witton. Virage. Bishop Auckland. Flexible on venue.

I'm thinking about somewhere around the Durham Dales , Stanhope, Derwent Reservoir etc. Some great driving roads.
But any suggestions welcome.
If there is a good response in the NE I reckon we could look at future drives in Cumbria, Northumbria etc.

Good suggestion. It's a stunning venue.
Let's see where most people are coming from and then confirm the route.

Looks great but I'm not sure I could get the whole day which is I would probably need, so I must decline. Would LOVE to go next year though.

If any others who had said yes/maybe fancy the trip to Newby it looks like it will be a fantastic event.

I'll still be trying for the NE run though.

Hi

For the inaugural North East Drive & Meet on Sunday 7th May we are going to visit one of the most picturesque parts of the NE (and some of the best driving roads in the country) - The North Pennines.

Meet at The A68 Cafe (DL14 0JF) at 0930 for 1000am for welcomes/tea/coffee/bacon butties. http://68catering.co.uk/cafe.aspx

Then it's a 60 mile round trip through Weardale and Teesdale stopping off at the magnificent Bowes Museum for hopefully a few good photos. They have a great cafe as well if a cuppa is required.

Then it's either back to the starting point or you can wind your way home from there.

Up to now we have:

1. james@Witton. Virage
2. Loose_Cannon. DB9
3. Malpaso. DBS
4. Buster73. N340 Vantage (possible)
5. Buster73's pal. Vanquish (possible)
6. mrteegrassgill. DBS Volante (possible)

Any more?

No worries Sam
Next time perhaps?
I know that road well and I think it would be a great run out.
Also if you fancy venturing further up north we have an offer from the Newcastle dealers. A run up the Northumberland Coast with lunch at a fancy pub thrown in. Late August perhaps. Not bad eh?
Keep in touch

It's looking like a lovely fresh, dry and sunny day on Sunday.

Perfect for a drive out up on the moors.
