I have an 06 vantage. The paint on the door mirror stalk is flaking quite badly and exposing the white corroded alloy underneath.

What have others done with this. Is it paintable if so how does the new finish look and what did you pay?

Thanks

DTW, the etch primer is easy to find, but does any product work better than others for the finish coat? My car is black so i think a black finish is best, probably with an OE look but if there is something else to consider would be good to know.

Thanks

I've scoured ebay and amazon but am only finding two classes of option
- bumper paint;
- other textured paint, suited to metal, is available, but the closest to black seems to be granite and i suspect this probably has a significant fleck to it.

Is bumper paint the correct product. It appears to be for application to plastic not metal. Also i assume it looks like plastic when its on the car?

Thanks

I've not got round to doing this myself. Possibly chicken. Claiming not enough time though. Having recently had a set of wheels refurbished I'm considering getting my wing mirror stalks and possibly my wiper arms removed and powder coated.

However for that they will have to be baked at 200 degrees.

Do the wing mirror stalks have wiring transiting them? I presume they must? Can this wiring be easily removed? Will any harnesses pass through the stalk assembly Ok?

Thanks for any advice.

Thanks. Good info. Perhaps I should have a crack at this.

Interested in pricing up what it would take to powder coat them though so if someone does know the answer to question above about if the wiring in the arm is easily removed I'd be glad to hear it.
