Early vantage roadster

Hi people I'm looking at buying an early vantage roadster with about 40k to spend. It's a 50th birthday present to myself. I'm soon going to be test driving a few to give me a feel of driving a prestige car. I've previously owned a porsche boxster so love the top down feel even though in the English weather the top is going to stay up most of the time. Im looking at getting the manual and considering getting a company to source a vehicle for me any feedback on this would be great. With spending such a lot of cash which I've been saving for the last two and a half years I don't want to be paying out extra money once I've brought the car many thanks guys
